Pendant from Staraya Ladoga

This pendant is based on the archaeological find from Staraya Ladoga, Russia. Dated from the 11th century.
It has a symmetrical shape with two horse heads and a human face in the center. Six rhomboid ornaments hang on six fine bronze chains.
They were found in 1928 by V.I. Ravdonikas, in the burial mound 6 near the village of Zaozyorye, South-Eastern Area of Lake Ladoga. Many of the jewels found in this grave are of Finnish origin, so it is possible that, due to its typology, this piece can also be.
They are currently exhibited in the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkammer) from Leningrad.
Hand-made with bronze.
