The Yakutian knife, sometimes called the “Yakut” knife, is a traditional knife of Yakuts (an ethnic group from the Sakha Republic (or Yakutia), region of Siberia), used for working with wood, hides, skins, fish and meat or for combat. The knife has been used in Yakutia for hundreds of years without significant changes in its design.
This Yakut knife has a sheath made of leather, it’s impregnated with bees wax to protect the blade agaisn humidity. It also has a leather strap with a deer antler button which allows to hang it to the belt.
This amazing knife could be used for various outdoor activities (hunting, fishing, bushcraft, wood carving, etc.).
The blade is made of made of carbon steel with a high hardness.
The handle is made of Carelian birch wood, birch bark and brass.
Approximated dimensions: Overall length 22.5 cm, blade of 10 cm, with a thickness of 3 mm.
