Anglo-Saxon Ring from the Thames

15,00 18,00

Replica of the Anglo-Saxon ring found on the Thames near Chelsea, England. Dating from the VIII-IX century.
The original is made of silver and is exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
The decoration of the ring is characterized by the representation of beasts, interlaced meshes and speckled surfaces, all of them present on the central plate of the ring. These zoomorphic motifs typical of Anglo-Saxon art suggest that it was produced in an English workshop.
It is handcrafted from bronze.
