Anglosaxon Winingas Hooks
Anglosaxon Winingas Hooks
15.00 € – 18.00 €
Replica of a pair of winingas hooks found at England, dated from the 9th century.
The body is basically triangular, with a rounded belly. They present zoomorphic decoration on Trewhiddle-style, where an animal is represented enmeshed in interlaced lines.
These hooks were very used by men and women during the Viking Era and there are several finds at Russia, England and Scandinavia.
The small eyelets facilitate the sweing of these hooks at the top of the wool band.
Handmade with bronze.
Measures: 2.8 x 2 cm.
