Spear inspired by many finds of the Viking Era.
The spear was a hunting tool used from the dawn of the humanity. This type of spear, with a stylized shape, was used on Europe from the Antique Times to the Late Middle Ages.
It’s made of 1060, 15n20 and 1090 high carbon steel to form a composite, pattern-welded spearhead. The core is a softer steel to give it shock absorption and the vibrant bars of twisted steel that were forge welded to form the body of the spearhead are plainly visible. A harder edge of high carbon 1090 steel completes the spearhead to give it edges that are both harder and more resilient.
This spear has a pointed tip, so it’s not suitable for combat and due to the handcrafted construction of the blade only could be considered as a decorative weapon.
