Medieval Hand Forged Spearhead
Medieval Hand Forged Spearhead
59.00 €
The spear has been definitely the most used weapon by the human being from time immemorial. During the Middle Ages it enjoyed great popularity as it was the quintessential hunting tool. On the battlefield it allowed infantry a greater attack range, while making cavalry even more fearsome.
They could be leaf-shaped, with a fluid and stylized form, or a more angular aspect, like the one we present here. It’s proportions are very similar to several archaeological finds belonging to the Viking Era, as you could observe at the attached images (Credits: Viking Age spearheads from the online collection of Kulturhistorisk museum, UiO (Norway)).
Made of carbon steel with a “brut de forge” finish, not sharpened, but with a sharp point.
