Sword from Sutton Hoo

Sword inspired by the famous archaeological find from Sutton Hoo, England. Dating from the beginning of the 7th century.

Sutton Hoo is the name of the place located in Suffolk, United Kingdom, where in 1939 were found a ship-burial of the 7th century, as well as various utensils. Sutton Hoo has been of vital importance to historians of the Middle Ages and who provided information on that period in England; period that until the discovery was very little documented. It is one of the main archaeological discoveries throughout the United Kingdom due to its age, size, rarity and historical importance.

– Material: EN45 spring steel blade (high carbon steel, not stainless), leather-wrapped wooden grip with brass fittings, wood-and-brass guard and pommel base, brass-and-enamel pommel cap

– Overall length: approx. 89 cm

– Blade length: approx. 74 cm

– Blade thickness: approx. 4.5 mm (cutting edges approx. 1 mm)

– Hilt length: approx. 15 cm (grip approx. 11 cm)

– Incl. wooden scabbard with genuine leather cover, wooden suspension loop and antiqued brass fittings
