Sword chape based on an archaeological find from Gotland, Sweden, and dated from the 10-11th century.

This piece was used to protect and decorate the end of a sword scabbard. It presents vegetable decoration motifs.

A very similar piece was found at Finland.

Hand-made with brass.

External dimensions (length x wide x thick) : 3.5 x 3.9 x 1.2 cm.

Internal dimensions: 3.4 x 3.6 x 0.9 cm.
