Sword chape based on an archaeological find from Sweden, and dated from the 11-12th century.
This piece was used to protect and decorate the end of a sword scabbard. It presents a zoomorphic motif that looks like a bird or dragon head, it also has decoration with the shape of interlaced lines.
Hand-made of bronze.
External dimensions (length x wide x thick): 5.9 x 4.5 x 3 cm.
Internal dimensions: 5.6 x 4.1 x 1.7 cm.
