Sword chape decorated on “Borre” style, based on the archaeological find from Skåne, Sweden, and dated from the 10th century.

This piece was used to protect and decorate the end of a sword scabbard. Many of these pieces has been found and they present a huge variety of decorative motifs.

 

The scabbard “mouth” fitting is decorated on “Jelling” style, inspired by other archaeological find.

This piece was used to protect and decorate the upper part of a sword scabbard.

Hand-made with bronze.

 

External dimensions chape end: 8 x 4.4 cm. Internal dimensions: 4 x 1.4 cm.

External dimensions “mouth” chape: 6 x 2.8 x 1.5 cm. Internal dimensions: 5.5 x 1.2 cm.
