Pair of turtle brooches, replica of those found in Gjerstad, Norway. Dated from the first half of the 9th century.
This brooch presents an “Oseberg” style decoration. This style owes its name to the elaborate decoration of the famous ship burial. A great variety of artifacts have been found with a similar decoration, so fine and typical of the Viking Age.
