This clay bowl was created on a potter’s wheel in the same way as it was done in ancient times. With the help of archaeological institutes, historical preservation agencies and museums, it was possible to reconstruct this ancient recipient. It is made of ochre clay that was fired at 1200°C, making it relatively durable.
It’s based on Hispano-Arabic exemplars found at almohad influenced territories in Spain. Dated from the 12th-13th Centuries, the copper oxide was used in Almohad ceramics to obtain green and blue colors, especially the characteristic turquoise green. Almohad ceramics, particularly those with green and manganese decoration, combine copper oxide with manganese oxide (black) as it’s the case, creating practical works of art to decorate your dining table, putting the color of Medieval Ages on it.
Please note that the bowl is not calibrated and is therefore intended exclusively for private use.
