This short Viking seax has a blade shaped like a broken-back bowie knife, which was particularly common among the Anglo-Saxons in the Viking Age and is frequently found in Viking finds in England.
The seax is made of high-quality materials and well-sharpened, and comes with a solid leather sheath made of sturdy cowhide. The sheath is designed to be worn on the back and the seax is drawn with the right hand.
Particular attention should be paid to the noble handle made of dark walnut wood and the brass and leather bindings. At the end, the short Viking seax is provided with a small ring by which it can be easily removed from the sheath.
The short Viking seax has the following dimensions:
- Overall length: 32.5 cm
- Blade length: 20 cm
- Handle length: 12.5 cm
- Blade thickness: 5 mm
- Blade height: 3.5 cm
The blade of the seax is made of 1095 high carbon steel, an unalloyed, stainless tool steel that is tough and sharpens very well, with a solid lifespan. The hardness is about 54 HRC Rockwell.
**Completely handmade item. The colour of the wood and the leather sheath may differ from the shown image. The dimensions also may vary slightly.
