Rus Knife with Decorated Sheath from Gnezdovo

Rus Knife with Decorated Sheath from Gnezdovo

225,00 â‚¬

Viking knife based on the archaeological find from Gnezdovo.

The handle is made of oak wood and features a bronze binding, typical of knives from this period. The blade is made of 1066 high carbon steel.

The sheath is made of vegetable tanned leather hardened with beeswax and bronze and tinned bronze fittings, based on the pieces found in Gnezdovo. Although this type of sheath was very common during the Viking Age, we can find numerous examples in Scandinavia, for example in the Gotland and Birka archaeological sites.

Perfect for historical reenactment, hunting or bushcraft.
