Spangenhelm

Spangenhelm

81.00

The Spangenhelm (from German Spangen that refers to the strips, and helm meaning helmet) seem to be spreaded in central Europe due to Persian influence. Even with his weaknesses due to the section desing and his riveted reinforcements, the Spangenhelms seems to be a standard from the 6th to the early 10th Century. With the time spangenhelms were replaced by one piece skulls like the nasal helmets and the kettle hats.

Made in 1,6mm steel with 1,4mm steel strips and natural canvas lining. Steel thickness may vary due to the handcrafted methods used on its manufacturing. The steel is untreated and may have rust. To protect the steel you may rub it with mineral or synthetic oil.
