Set of chape and mouthpiece for sword scabbard in “Borre” style. The chape is based on the archaeological find from Skåne, Sweden, dated from the 10th century. The fitting or mouthpiece for the sword scabbard, in the same style, is inspired by the same find.
These pieces were used to decorate and protect the end and top of a sword scabbard. Many similar pieces have been found with a wide variety of decorative motifs.
