Island of Eigg Sword – Damascus blade

449.99

At the island of Eigg, Inverness-shire, Scotland, a sword handle was found. It’s made of bronze inlaid with silver, viking-styled, and dated from the 9th century.

This reproduction presents a blade which fits perfectly with such ostentatious ornamentation: damascus steel.

The pommel, handle and guard, as the original one, are made of casted aged bronze. The exquisite ornamentation of the original indicates its pertainance to a character of great relevance or belonging to the nobility.

– Overall length 97.5 cm.

– Blade length 80 cm.

– P.O.B.: ~11 cm from guard.

– Handle: 10 cm.

– Weight (without scabbard): ~1.950 grams.

A wooden scabbard covered with leather and brass casted fittings is included.

Semi-sharp blade (1mm edge), not suitable for combat. Only suitable for display.
