Beautiful necklace, composed by three pendants and several beads. All these fittings are based on the pieces found at the Vårby hoard, in the Mälaren valley of central Sweden. Dated from the 10th century..
The central, made in Borre-style, presents intertwined symetrical snakes or griffins. A very common decoration on the scandinavian art.
The other two main pieces, also made in Borre-style, presents intertwined zoomorphic forms.
All the beads used on this necklace are inspired by granulated and filigree pieces, a very common design on several archaeological sites and also found at Vårby.
In order to offer a good priced piece, this pendant is made of silver plated bronze. It has been mounted on a simple thread.
