This axe is based on several Viking Age archaeological finds. According to Jan Petersen’s classification, this axe head would correspond to type “B” and date back to the 10th century.
Its size makes it perfect for use in the camp, for splitting firewood, or as a complementary tool for carpentry work. Its wide edge makes it especially practical for tasks such as planing wood, and its flat butt makes it possible to use it as a mallet or hammer.
Made of forged high carbon steel, with an oak wood shaft.
Although it is supplied sharpened, depending on use, it may require further sharpening.
