Sword chape based on an archaeological find from Grötlingbo, Gotland, Sweden, and dated from the 10-11th century.
This piece was used to protect and decorate the end of a sword scabbard. It presents a zoomorphic motif that looks like a dragon head, it also has decoration with the shape of interlaced lines.
Hand-made of bronze.
External dimensions: 6.5 x 4.9 x 1.7 cm.
Internal dimensions: 5.7 x 4.5 x 1.3 cm.
