Viking Solar Wheel / Shield Amulet

This peculiar amulet was inspired by several archaeological finds from Birka (Björkö), Sweden and Truso (Poland). Dated from the 10-11th century.

The same as the original ones, our pendant was made with the stamp technique, and although it’s casted in bronze, it shows with accuracy all details of this ancient technique, even the marks of the stamp on the backside of the disc.

Its disc shape with a characteristic central protuberance reminds a shield with its umbo, but the motifs are inspired on another solar wheel amulets.

This pendant is handcrafted from bronze, although it is also available in silver-plated bronze.

Measures: 2.4 x 3 cm.
